Delaware might be small, but it's packed with fall fun! I've had the pleasure of experiencing all the amazing things our state has to offer. Here are my top 5 picks for a fantastic fall:
5. Football Game at the University of Delaware
Nothing says fall like cheering on your local college team. The college students, alumni, and locals fill the stadium in blue and gold. Don't forget to arrive early to enjoy tailgating with your friends and family. Get your tickets here.

4. Haunted Hayrides and Attractions
Halloween is my favorite holiday... shocking right? There's nothing quite like getting spooked during the fall season. Eastern State Penitentiary, a former prison with a chilling history, is a must-visit for thrill-seekers. I definitely jumped with surprise and laughed after the thrill as I made my way through this creepy attraction! If you're looking for something a bit closer to home, Frightland For Screams in Middletown offers a variety of haunted attractions.

3. Local Orchards
Just a short drive across the border, Millborne Orchards is a fall must-visit. I love their corn maze, apple picking, and delicious treats. It's the perfect place to enjoy some fresh air and family fun.

2. Hiking Through Autumn Foliage
Delaware is home to some beautiful state parks, and they're even more stunning in the fall. My favorite is White Clay Creek State Park, where you can enjoy scenic trails, stunning fall foliage, and the peaceful sounds of nature. Another great option is Brandywine Creek State Park, which offers rolling hills, forests, and meadows.

1. Neighborhood Trick-or-Treating
Especially now that I have a child, the tradition of trick-or-treating is a seasonal highlight. We love dressing up in costumes as a family - this year we are Pokemon - and exploring our neighborhood, and collecting candy. Need ideas? Check out Time Magazine's Top 10 Halloween Costumes of 2024
