Our 5 Favorite Homes of the Year

There were so many unique homes sold in our area this year, and we had a great time looking through them to find some of our favorites. The detail, thought, and care that people put into their properties to make them homes, is one our favorite things about the real estate business. We love to help clients find the perfect space. Read on, to see some of our favorites homes that sold nearby this year.

Our Favorite: Expensive Home

17 Selborne Dr, Wilmington, DE

This was the most expensive home that sold in New Castle County this year. Aptly named after its original owner, The Henry Canby House was originally built by this Yale professor and his wife, poet, Marion Ponsonby Canby. The estate is walking distance to the village of Centreville.  The main house is classically built with old world charm and modern amenities.  The property also includes two guests houses and a spring fed pond!  We expected an outstanding kitchen, and this one doesn't disappoint.  What I love most is the uniquely finished basement that includes a wine cellar and tasting room, home gym, theater and family room.

Our Favorite: Budget Friendly Waterfront Property

10 Bohemia Ave, Chesapeake City, MD

This property made the list because of its location, price, and general adorableness. Situated directly on the C&D Canal, this home exudes warmth and historic charm. Plus, it was sold for only $300,000 and includes - get this - the ice cream shop next store. Imagine overlooking the water, while eating ice cream each evening! Bliss.

Our Favorite: Landscaping

201 Chandler Mill Rd, Kennett Square, PA

This sweet home was built in 1900 and is a gardener's dream come true! From the pergola and fire pit to the bridge and perfectly placed pots, the owners clearly had a vision and saw it through. Plus, it backs up to Parish Trail Nature Preserve for more outdoor space!

Our Favorite: Secluded Home

182 Good Hope Rd, Landenberg, PA

This 4 br 2.5 bath home embodies a nature lover's get away. Sitting on 6.5 acres and backing up to White Clay Creek parkland, who wouldn't want to settle in here with a book, and take in the great outdoors? Plus, there's a studio, so you can invite your friends to stay, but still enjoy your peaceful retreat!

Our Favorite: Farm

952 Churchtown Rd, Middletown, DE

On 21+ acres, this farm has everything. It has a stream and bridge to your own private oasis.  Besides its obvious beauty and tasteful updates, the property has multiple apartments, a large horse barn, swimming pool, and home gym.  Makes you want to get a horse, just to live here!
